What are we doing?

To help us make the CMMEI.COM website a positive place for everyone, including visitors with disabilities, we do our best to follow the international web standards outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) feature three levels of accessibility: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. We are committed to achieving Level AA compliance for this website, and in some instances, Level AAA compliance.

What have we done to the webpages?

A "Skip to Main Content" link is located at the top of every webpage. It remains visually hidden until a keyboard user presses the tab key to focus on it.

Additionally, a visible "Jump to Start of Main Content" link is located in the footer of every webpage.

All webpages are formatted in such a way that when you zoom the desktop web browser up to 500%, there is no horizontal scrolling. At that zoom level, all images, text, links, and focus indicators fit within the web browser window and do not collide or overlay each other.

We have done our best to make all webpages responsive. All webpage content is visible within various mobile screen sizes, in portrait or landscape mode.

An "Accessibility Statement" link is located in the footer of every webpage.

To aid orientation, your current location's webpage title is displayed at the top of every webpage (except the homepage and webpages with domain names in the header image).

The current page name text is styled in (#1a1a1a) a very dark shade of bold gray that looks almost like black, but it is softer than pure black.

(#1a1a1a) is used for all text to provide better readability. This color is used to avoid the harsh visual glare and eye strain caused by pure black (#000000) on a bright white (#ffffff) screen.

The background webpage color (#fafafa) is a soft off-white, color. This color is used rather than pure white (#ffffff) to reduce glare and eye fatigue.

Note: Some webpages hosted by CMMEI have a different domain name from CMMEI.COM. A CMMEI.COM logo image will appear to the left of the domain name logo image as seen on that domain name's webpage.

To keep the design clean, certain navigation links are omitted from the main header but remain fully listed and accessible in the webpage footer and on the "Site Map" webpage.

Non-link text is displayed in (#1a1a1a). Text links use bold colors, visited links are red (#6b0000), active links are (#1a1a1a). Hovered and unvisited links are blue (#0a3161).

Hovering over an unvisited link triggers a blue (#0a3161) focus indicator, while navigating to it using the tab key displays our standard 3px (#1a1a1a) focus indicator.

When you hover over a link, the font color turns blue and the link is surrounded by a 3px wide blue focus indicator.

When you activate a link, the font color turns (#1a1a1a) and the link is surrounded by a 3px wide (#1a1a1a) focus indicator.

When you use the tab key to navigate, the font color is (#1a1a1a) and the link is surrounded by a 3px wide (#1a1a1a) focus indicator.

When you use the tab key to focus on a link or hover over it with a mouse (or other pointing device), a combination known as hybrid input behavior, the font color turns blue and the link is surrounded by a 3px wide (#1a1a1a) focus indicator.

Standard focus indicator thickness is 2px. The 3px border used on our website is larger and equates to 0.19rem or 2.25pt.

To help you navigate easily, links are always in bold color and underlined, making them stand out from regular text.

Body and paragraph text and link font size on this website is set at 1.17rem. Which equates to 18.8px or 14pt.

A desktop web browser standard default font size is 1rem. Which equates to 16px or 12pt.

To improve readability, our text font size is set larger than standard browser defaults.

Character width for each line is set at 70 characters.

For line spacing, most desktop browsers use a fallback multiplier of roughly 1.2 based on the default 16px font size.

For standard line spacing in a web browser, based on that 1.2 multiplier, the computed line spacing default value is 1.2rem. Which equates to 19.2px or 14.4pt.

Line spacing on this website is set at 1.5rem. Which equates to 24px or 18pt.

Our webpage line spacing is set wider than standard browser defaults to significantly improve text readability and flow.

A "Site Map" link is available in both the header and footer of every webpage. The only exception is the homepage, where the link appears exclusively in the footer.

A "Contact Us" link is near the bottom of every webpage.

How are we doing?

Our goal is to make every webpage accessible to everyone. However, there could be some webpages that have not received accessibility or are not available for any accessibility solution.

The effort to improve our website's accessibility will be ongoing and to the fullest extent possible.

We have worked hard to ensure the CMMEI.COM website achieves Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA compliance, and in some cases, AAA standards.
